MC-Series Microcell and Macrocell Base Stations

Reduce operating costs & increase efficiency.

The MC-Series base stations have a unique software-controlled technology platform architecture, which
delivers high performance in a small form factor. The platform is based on a Layer 2, packet-based
architecture with Ethernet control of low-power radios.

This architecture supports future migration to any radio frequency and/or wireless protocol via upgrade
options within the RadioFrame network elements, while also enabling the ability to expand capacity to meet
service quality demands and growing data requirements. Operating expenses are significantly reduced due
to the system's minimal power supply and HVAC requirements. Installed on a significant scale, MC-Series
could potentially translate into millions of dollars in operational savings annually.

In today's iDEN configuration, the MC-Series system can scale to full macro
capacity in one very small package (a standard 7-foot-tall, 19- inch-wide rack).

The unique Multi-Channel RadioBlade (MCRB) transceiver duplicates the RF
functions of up to 6 simultaneously operational iDEN radio transceivers.
Supporting six corresponding Transmit (Tx) - Receive (Rx) channel pairs with
a full-duplex operation, MCRB transceivers operate in both the 800E and 900
MHz bands.

The MC-Series is available in the following options:

• Rack Mount Standard Capacity
• Single Band Radio Option in Outdoor Pole-Mount

System Manager

The System Manager is an integral piece of the MC-Series system. We
understand that efficient and reliable network operation is critical when
providing uninterrupted services to customers. It offers a flexible and
customizable solution providing enhanced management capabilities such as
remote management of system elements to the module level, which can be
viewed on laptop or PDA. Functions include administration and provisioning,
systems management and system control management.

It also supports open network standards, such as SNMP for integration with existing network operations tools
and can be used from any location: remotely, locally or from a central site. System Manager is accessible via
any IP connection through a web browser. Management can be shared, and login options are available for
customized access.
